Rotary Gear and Twin-Screw Pumps for Bitumen
Albany supplies heated rotary gear and twin-screw pumps for up to 500 m³/hr of bitumen and asphalt.
Albany has models for external or tank immersed use in horizontal or vertical situations. Pumps can be oil or electrically heated. They are used in the world's tarmacadam plants and in many refineries and tank farms.
Albany pumps bitumen and asphalt at 130 - 200°C, but in refineries up to 280°C is catered for with cast steel cased models.
Wear resistant pumps are supplied for the bitumen/powdered rock mixtures used in the carpet industry, clay pigeon production and for pipe coatings. Low speed bitumen emulsion pumps are a speciality for both fixed installations and trucks.
Bitumen pumps are used for every stage of the bitumen process. They can be transfer pumps from one tank to another, for unloading and loading tankers and smaller pumps used for road sprayers.
To improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs, Albany can fit bitumen pumps with triple lip seals in place of gland packing. This also reduces shaft damage when a pump is reconditioned. Albany are able to quote for this work.
